The voyage of Mars through Cancer gives us the opportunity to blend the fiery planet’s initiative with Cancerian concerns for preservation. We’ll want to spend this time carefully building things that honor and acknowledge our connection to the past and to family values. Our urge to move forward during this time doesn’t cut us off from familiar patterns, but includes them, to make for a more gentle and comfortable step into the future.
It’s true that Mars is toned down when it moves through sensitive Cancer, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get anything done. If we learn how to work with the Mars-in-Cancer energy, a great deal can be accomplished. Digging into domestic tasks is one of the best ways to use this transit. Mars in Cancer is a great opportunity to get out your hammer and nails so you can start (or finish) a home improvement project.
You may also feel a greater need to fight for the rights of a family member or a domestic situation during this time. Even though Mars in Cancer prefers using its energy to nurture, it will ultimately do whatever it takes to defend what and whom it cares about. As a result, you may notice that an intensely protective instinct takes over your actions when Mars and Cancer sync up.
The problem with Mars’ transit though cautious Cancer is that rather than taking a direct approach to going after what we want, we take a more passive one. If we don’t feel emotionally connected to something, it’s unlikely we’ll take action. Unfortunately, the action we do take is usually ruled by the heart, and may be more reactive and oversensitive than purposeful.

The Third Quarter moon is currently 23.9 days old. The next new moon is at 9:27:15, 13 Nov 2023. The next full moon is at 9:16:41, 27 Nov 2023.
Greetings, fellow star gazers and specifically to all you Cancers out there!
Today, the third quarter moon is a spry 23.9 days old - kind of like Captain Sisko after a long stint in the wormhole, just slightly frazzled around the edges but still bright and shiny. But let's not dwell on the moon's age! Age is just a number, except when it's a lunar cycle, then it's kind of important.
Your ruling planet, the Moon, is in its "I'm almost full, but not quite" phase. Kind of like when you're about to sneeze, but then... Nope, false alarm. So close, yet so far. It's the universe's version of trolling.
This quarter moon phase brings with it a sense of completion and reflection, much like when Sisko finished his model of an ancient Bajoran lightship. You've been working hard these past few weeks, Cancers, and now it's time to take a step back and admire your handiwork.
You might be feeling a little like a Ferengi in a room full of Tribbles - overwhelmed, outnumbered, and just a little bit itchy. But don't worry, Cancers! Your natural tenacity is as resilient as a Klingon's forehead, so keep on trekkin’, because the stars are aligned in your favor!
Now, remember, the universe doesn't always give you what you want, but it will certainly give you what you need. And right now, you need to let go and embrace the unknown. Sure, it may be as scary as facing down a Jem'Hadar warrior, but remember, even Worf had his moments of doubt.
So put on your Starfleet uniform, boldly go where no Cancer has gone before, and remember, in space, no one can hear you scream... Unless it's in joy because your stars are just that good!
